The Spectacular Now Review

THE-SPECTACULAR-NOW
There are some movies that focus on very serious and rare stories that hold true for so many people, we may not even know it but they may be present amongst us. The spectacular Now is a comedy and teen drama film that focuses on a coming of age story. Two lead characters Sutter and Aimee have different views about future but still they find a connection between them that draws them close, closer then they anticipated.

The story of the film perfectly depicts the ordinary lives of teenagers in quite an extraordinary way and their attitudes towards life. I mean its just amazing how the story rolls out as a teen romance that is so much exhilarating just like a teenagers life.

The Spectacular Now is based on the novel with the same name written by Tim Tharp. The storyline is very simple one. Sutter Keely played by Miles Teller is a party animal sort of high school boy who gets drunk quite often, right after being dumped by a beautiful blond girl he meets

Aimee played by shailene Woodly. Aimee is just the opposite of Sutter mainly in terms of view on life and future. Sutter just wants to be with Aimee to make his ex Jealous but along the lines something happens that neither of them expected, they fall for each other and a connection between them starts to grow strong.

It is that connection between the two that makes Aimee as well as the viewers about how dark Sutter's life was and the tragedy that it encompassed. As a defence Mechanism Sutter finds comfort in drinking and has adopted a philosophy of living in the Now.

The Spectacular Now's name alone speaks the fact that movie is trying to comfort these distressed teens by showing that the image teenagers form about life being painful and miserable is just there in our heads and they can easily make things nicer for them by showing will!
